Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Assistant who has a minumum of 1 year experience working at an animal hospital to join our team. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate care to our patients and excellent customer service to our clients. You will support our receptionists, technicians and veterinarian in their roles. This position requires knowledge of veterinary practices and procedures. Responsibilities:

- Assist our veterinarian and technicians with exams, procedures, ultrasounds, X-rays and surgeries

- Maintain cleanliness and disinfect all areas of the hospital including, but not limited to: laundry, cleaning of floors, taking out trash, cleaning treatment areas, cleaning equipment and instruments, exam rooms, stock rooms, surgical and dental rooms, reception area and bathrooms

- Animal handling and restraint

- Assist, prepare and run in-house testing as needed

- Daily inventory and restocking

- Provide a clean and comfortable environment for all hospitalized pets, including walking dogs

- Assist the reception team as needed including preparing estimates, checking clients in or out and answering the phones, booking appointments, taking deposits

Requirements:

- Minimum of 1 year experience as a Veterinary Assistant working at an animal hosital

- Flexibility to stay late if needed, available to work 1-2 Saturdays a month and are comfortable doing occasional house calls with the veterinarian/technicians

- Restrain all types of animals, sizes and temperaments (large, small, aquatic, small farm animals and a variety of wildlife and exotics)

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask

- The ability to learn Digitail, our veterinary software program. Knowledge of Google Drive, Google Docs and Google sheets.

- Abide by all company policies and procedures

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
